Matchups to watch
Clemson offensive line vs. Alabama front seven
The Alabama front 7 is a tough matchup for any team in the country, and make no mistake about it Clemson will have their hands full. The Bama front seven is one of the best in College Football history. Washinton has a lot of stud players on offense, and they were completely neutralized by Alabamas front seven. This entire game comes down to can the Tigers give Deshaun Watson time to make plays? Trust me either way; Watson is a hand full. Clemson has one of the better offensive lines in the country and our better equipped to handle the Crimson Tide front seven than any other team. They do not just play fast, but Watson gets rid of the ball very quickly which could nullify Bama’s pass rush.
Who is better
Offense- Clemson- You have to go with Watson here he will be the best player on the field and anytime you have the best player on the field you have a shot. Alabama’s Bo Scarborough was outstanding Saturday, and he will have to be that good again if Alabama is to score points against Clemson. Alabama Freshman QB Jalen Hurts concerns me in this game; he looked shaky at times on Saturday and Clemson is coming off their best defensive game of the year.
Defense-Alabama- Before the semi-final games this would have been a no-brainer, and even now to me it is a no-brainer, but Clemson’s defense doesn’t have to be better than Alabama’s they just need to be good enough to shut down Alabama’s offense, and they may be. This Bama defense with another big showing could go down as the greatest defense in NCAA history.
Clemson is the worst possible matchup for Alabama; they are good enough on defense to limit what the Tide wants to do, which will be run the ball. The Tigers offense will get rid of the ball quickly and operate at a fast pace which I believe will have a big effect on the Tide’s big defensive line. I look for the Tigers to get revenge from last year. Tigers 27 Crimson Tide 24
