This week on Irish Football Weekly, we discuss and analyze the previous game against the Nevada Wolfpack. We explain the offense’s success, along with some statistics and how they can continue to grow to make this an elite offense for the Irish. The offense is very balanced with ball distribution within that potent offense. Offensively, they are being well-coached and the offensive line creates gaps and protection for their skills players to make successful plays.

As far as the defense goes, we give our opinions on that unit and how they can get better and the personnel changes made for the upcoming game against Michigan State. The defense has made some changes at linebacker and in the secondary. They have some young and inexperienced players playing which could potentially hurt them in the early part of the season. We will see how that unit will mesh and ensure the fans that they will be respected when they step on the field.
As far as the Michigan State game is concerned, we will talk about the coaches background that lead these top ranked football programs. Coach Kelly has accumulated wins at a quick rate which will be discussed in our “Fun Facts for the Finish” portion of our show. Coach Dantonio has created a great program at Michigan State which will come into South Bend expecting to win. These two coaches both come from similar backgrounds by coaching at the University of Cincinnati. As we talk about the two coaches, they bring a huge amount of success to this game. Along with those coaches, these teams have some prolific players that will standout in this game at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday. Notre Dame has Deshone Kizer, Torii Hunter Jr. (back from concussion), Josh Adams, and Nyles Morgan lead the #18 Irish against the #12 ranked Michigan State. This will be their 78th meeting with Coach Kelly having the edge from the coaching record standpoint.
