Week 13 was full of interesting storylines across the Canadian Football League but more than the fiasco in Montreal and Winnipeg’s winning streak, Edmonton’s collapse is the one that has me intrigued.

Yes, the Edmonton Eskimos are defending Grey Cup champions, but it was an off-season of change for the team. The Esks’ defense is far better than they were at the start of the season and the offense is second in the league in total yards per game – yet here they are, riding a three-game losing streak including an overtime loss to the now 2-10 Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Inconsistency is the theme this season for Edmonton, as they’ve struggled to put a full sixty minutes together. They’ve blown huge leads to Hamilton, Saskatchewan and Calgary while the Lions and Bombers continue to create distance in the standings.

The Eskimos sit six points behind Winnipeg in the West Division and are tied with Toronto for that last playoff spot. Edmonton’s final home game on November 5th against the Argos could be the Eskimos’ only chance to squeak into the playoffs with a crossover.

At least Edmonton still has some nice fantasy options, right?

So here’s who I’m rolling with in DraftKings CFL daily fantasy football this week:

Dan LeFevour (TOR QB – $7,000) – I’ve got LeFevour and the only prescription is … uhh, nevermind. But LeFevour is looking like a nice fantasy option after just two starts this season. He already has 600 yards passing and 5 touchdowns but what I really like here is the rushing yardage. He has had 10 carries in each of the past two games, far above any other quarterback. Bo Levi Mitchell threw for over 350 yards against Ottawa last week and while LeFevour isn’t Mitchell, you can’t go wrong with a $7,000 quarterback.

Travon Van (OTT RB $6,600) – While Van wasn’t able to get much done against Calgary last week, I need to remind you that Toronto isn’t Calgary. The Argos have the CFL’s third-worst rushing defense, and what I really like about Van is how the RedBlacks are using him. He’s received double-digit carries in each of his last three starts, and you can bank on 12-15 more carries for Van this week.

DaVaris Daniels (CGY WR $6,300) – I just can’t take Daniels out of my lineup. With the news that Bakari Grant has been placed on the six-game injured list, Daniels may just take on an even bigger role in the Stampeder offense. Daniels has 14 targets in the past two weeks as well as three touchdowns. I see him continuing his hot play against the Bombers.

Diontae Spencer (TOR WR $8,000) – I like the pairing of Spencer and LeFevour as I’m sure many Argos fans do. He has 12 catches and a touchdown since LeFevour took over in Toronto, and the Argos have him back there returning punts. It’s only a matter of time before the speedster breaks a big one.

Bryan Burnham (BC Flex $6,100) – I’ll take that price tag on Burnham any day. The Lions were on BYE last week, but Burnham seems to be building some nice chemistry with Jennings: He’s averaging just under 6 targets a game and had a 138-yard game last time out. Burnham is always a threat for the big play and I see his season getting even better once Terrell Sinkfield hits the field in BC. Burnham is a bargain at $6,100.

I can’t wait until next week when we can pick on the Alouettes again…
