AUG 08, 2014 : Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly #13 looks at his options during the game between Edmonton Eskimos and Montreal Alouettes at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Edmonton Eskimos defeats the Montreal Alouettes 33-23.

1). Calgary Stampeders (1-0-1)- The Stampeders hold onto the number one spot with a thrilling win over the Ottawa Redblacks. The Stamps were hampered by penalties in the first half but found their groove in the second half.

Next Up: @Winnipeg

2). Edmonton Eskimos (2-0)- The Eskimos overcame a slow start to overwhelm the Alouettes in the second half 17-6. The Eskimos on defense have improved a lot from last year and look like at least in the early going to be a Grey Cup threat.

3). Ottawa Redblacks (0-1-1)- I know I will catch hell for this, but they have gone tooth and nail the first two games of the season, with what I think is clearly the best team in the CFL.

Next Up: Host Toronto

4). Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1-0)- The Bombers start the season out with a road win in Saskatchewan, which is a game you would expect the Bombers to win. That being said a road win to start the season is always nice.

Next Up: Host Calgary

5). B.C. Lions (1-1)- Jonathon Jennings is the problem with this team, sure he makes amazing plays that no one else can make. The problem is he has a tendency to force things which usually proves costly at the QB position. It is not a good thing to be a Gunslinger at QB, and it looks to me that Jennings has become just that.

6). Montreal Alouettes (1-1)- The Alouettes have the look of a serious contender to me. They completely outplayed the Eskimos for the first half, but could not continue at that high level of play in the second half as they came up short 23-19.

Next Up: Host B.C. Lions

7). Toronto Argonauts (1-1)- A late turnover cost them the chance at winning against the Lions this past weekend. The Argos seem to be a much-improved team from last year though.

Next Up: @Ottawa

8). Saskatchewan Roughriders (0-2)- The Roughriders look to be a basement team yet again this season. Can Chris Jones survive another year like last years? I know it’s early still, but Hamilton could be an almost must-win game.

Next Up: Host Hamilton

9). Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-1)- If you saw them play last week, you know why they are last?

Next Up: @Saskatchewan
