That’s right, the Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast delves into the wonder and intrigue of more CFL playoff scenarios as the league heads into week 18. (Already? Sheesh.) It’s true: Co-hosts Os Davis and Joe Pritchard love the what-if stuff, even if very little might happen to the playoff picture with *two freakin’ weeks to go*.
In this episode, the RWB also extolls the virtues of “post-trade deadline bandwagon jumping,” as elicited on Twitter by @FenderGuy69. Joe makes the case for would-be temporary bandwagoneers to get onboard with his beloved Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Also, whoa – have you seen the latest Grey Cup odds? To say the Calgary Stampeders are a big favorite is a serious understatement.

But the RWB’s actually about the games themselves – sometimes, anyway – like last week’s slate of cliffhangers or this week’s slate of … not exactly promising matchups, including at least one 100% irrelevant game (Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Montreal Alouettes). So, yeah, Os and Joe make their picks for what it’s worth. And Os has his overly optimistic Trent Richardson recap of the week as well.
And we’re on to next week, when we’ll certainly have yet more CFL playoff scenarios, with actual possible matchups to discuss – things get particularly sticky if the Toronto Argonauts win this week while the Ottawa RedBlacks are on a bye, and if the RedBlacks win this division, they’ll have an enviable scheduling advantage in getting to host both the East division championship game and Grey Cup at home.
Scary — and aother reason for Joe and Os to again extol the virtues of a single-division CFL and a 10-team CFL, respectively.
