As we continue from the Winners and Losers of Day One, here’s what happened on day two.

Winners

New England Patriots

The Champions are just getting better.

They made a huge move and got Brandin Cooks and the Saints’ 4th rounder in exchange for New England’s first round pick (#32 overall) and their third round pick.

The Pats also acquired DE Kony Ealy and the Panthers’ 3rd round pick for the Patriots’ 2nd round pick – translation: The Pats move down a whole 8 spots and get a quality pass rusher.

Bill Belichick just operates on a different plateau than the rest of the NFL.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers signed Offensive Tackle and former Viking Matt Kalil, safety Mike Adams, receiver Charles Johnson, and also brought back Julius Peppers and Captain Munnerlyn.

Green Bay Packers

A day after losing Micah Hyde and largely sitting on their hands, the Packers made a big move Friday in landing Pro Bowl Tight End Martellus Bennett. This comes after Packer Nation lost their minds most of the day when talks broke off with Jared Cook.

Signing Bennett to a three year deal is a huge win for an offense that thrived when Cook was healthy down the stretch. While they still have many areas that need improvement, the passing game is ready to go for 2017.

They also resigned tackle/guard Don Barclay, who will get a chance to start if T.J. Lang does not return.

Middle of the Road

Miami signed linebacker Lawrence Timmons from Pittsburgh. Their tight end Jordan Cameron retired after 6 seasons.

Indianpolis signed Jabaal Sheard off New England to help their pass rush.

Losers

Washington

They did sign Terrelle Pryor to a one-year deal, but when your GM is missing in action and then is fired on Day 2 of Free Agency, that cannot be good.

Things are not well in Washington.

I think what’s happening with the Redskins is being blown out of proportion by the media. If this was Buffalo no one would give a damn.

    • Matt Andruscavage

Not sure about that. Cousins wants out, confirmed by a couple sources, the GM situation is that bad according to Redskins radio by Steve Czaben, and theyve lost weapons as well as Chris Baker.

So far, I dont think it’s been a good couple of days

      Thanks for the comment!

“Sources” LOL. They’ve improved their DL, Signed Pryor, got Swearinger, aren’t done yet and have 10 picks in the draft. If this were Arizona it wouldn’t be news.

        • Matt Andruscavage

Id say the same thing no matter who the team is.

Are you saying Cousins is happy and the stories of him wanting to be traded arent true?

And I agree, it’s still very early and they have plenty of time and resources to return to the postseason in 2017.
