2017 NFL Draft Grading all 32 First Round Picks

1). Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE

Solid pick, but there are concerns about Garrett. Garrett is a great talent but is not yet a great player. Grade B

2). Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky, QB

This to me is a stretch, to say the least. Trubisky might end up being a good player, but to trade up from 3 to number 2 and picking Trubisky is highly questionable. Grade D

3). San Francisco 49ers: Solomon Thomas, DE

I don’t like this pick at all; I think Thomas is one of the most overrated players in this draft. Grade D

4). Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB

This is a good pick by the Jags; my only question is should you pick a running back this high? Grade B+

5). Tennessee Titans: Corey Davis, WR

Davis maybe the best receiver in this draft and the Titans may be near making a deep playoff run. Grade A-

6). New York Jets: Jamal Adams, S

Great Player and a top-flight character guy, Slam dunk by the Jets. Grade A

7). Los Angeles Chargers: Mike Williams, WR

The Chargers need receivers, and Williams will be a good one. My only question with him will be the ability to separate from defenders. Grade B-

8). Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey, RB

I still don’t like picking running backs in the top ten, but this kid can do it all and is a much-needed weapon for Cam Newton. Grade A

9). Cincinnati Bengals: John Ross, WR

A perfect compliment to A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. The question now will have to be can the Bengals offensive line give Dalton the time to throw the ball to them. Grade A

10). Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes, QB

I think this is a huge reach and not worth the risk. Grade D

11). New Orleans Saints: Marshon Lattimore, CB

Solid pick at a need position. Grade B+

12). Houston Texans: DeShaun Watson QB

I think this is a good risk for the Texans to take. Grade B

13). Arizona Cardinals: Hasson Reddick, Temple

GREAT PICK, I love this kid he can do it all and has no obvious weaknesses. Grade A

14). Philadelphia Eagles: Derek Barnett, DE

Unlike most I am not as sold on Barnett, I do think he is a solid player I just think this is about ten spots too high to draft him. Grade C

15). Indianapolis Colts: Malik Hooker, S

This is an absolute steal! Grade A

16). Baltimore Ravens: Marlon Humphrey, CB

Need pick and an excellent need pick at that. Grade B+

17). Washington Redskins: Jonathon Allen, DT/DE

Outstanding pick, to think that Barnett would go before Allen is assinine! Grade A-

18). Tennessee Titans: Adoree Jackson, CB, KR

To say the Titans look headed in the right direction would be a massive understatement. Grade B+

19). Tampa Bay Buccaneers: O.J. Howard, TE

Solid pick, I am not as sold on him as others, but I do understand the reasoning behind the pick. Grade B-

20). Denver Broncos: Garrett Bolles, G/T

Mean, nasty player, will be a huge upgrade in Denver. Grade B

21). Detroit Lions: Jarad Davis, LB

Solid player and person, safe pick. Grade C+

22). Miami Dolphins: Charles Harris, DE

I like Harris, but I still wonder why they didn’t go after a linebacker here, still though a solid pick. Grade B-

23). New York Giants: Evan Ingram, TE

Solid receiver, I would have gone offensive line here though. Still a good pick. Grade B-

24). Oakland Raiders: Gareon Conley, CB

This pick is a risk, but Conley is a stud. Grade B

25). Cleveland Browns: Jabrill Peppers, S

Not sure where he will fit in? Grade C-

26). Atlanta Falcons:  Takkarist McKinley, LB

Big-Time edge pass rusher. Grade B

27). Buffalo Bills: Tre’Davious White, CB

This fills a need, but more important he is an excellent player. Grade B+

28). Dallas Cowboys: Taco Charlton, DE

This is a steal here! Grade B

29). Cleveland Browns: David Njoku, TE

Raw player, but does have a high ceiling. Grade C

30). Pittsburgh Steelers: T.J. Watt LB

Still, needs to be coached up a little bit, but I like this pick. Grade B+

31). San Francisco 49ers: Reuben Foster, LB

This is a great pick by the Niners. Grade A

32). New Orleans Saints: Ryan Ramczyk, OT

Ramcyzk is a good player, but I don’t understand the Saints thinking here. Grade C
