Every year there are guys who don’t get much buzz until they get to the NFL combine. I know a lot of those guys are workout warriors and let’s face it those guys more often than not are busts. The list I put together today is a list of guys who looked good at the combine but were overlooked entering the combine. This list of ten players are guys that are very solid players; I think the majority of these ten players will have a significant impact when they get to the NFL.

1). Josh Dobbs, QB, Tennessee

Dobbs was a guy I was never impressed with, but to see his footwork and just general improvement was impressive. He threw the ball accurately which was not something I thought he would be able to do. Somebody will get him in the middle rounds, and it could be a steal for that team.

2). Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State

Goodwin put up impressive numbers at the combine 19 bench-press reps, a 4.42 40-yard dash, a 4.00 short shuttle and a 126-inch broad jump. Add on to that a breakout Rose Bowl performance where he caught two TD passes against USC Trojan Adoree Jackson and you have a very intriguing draft pick.

3). Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova

The question here is the competition he played against while at Villanova. Putting that aside he is an amazing athlete for his enormous size. He ran an incredible 4.83 in the 40-yard dash. It’s even more incredible that Kpassagnon broad jumped 10 feet, 8 inches at 6-foot-7, 289 pounds. With his size, it made sense to believe that he would struggle with tests like the 3-cone drill, but he ran a very good 7.46 seconds (same as Carl Lawson, and actually faster than Takk McKinley).

4). Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado

Awuzie was dropping fast because of poor play at the end of the Buffaloes season. Since then we have found out that he was dealing with turf toe. It now looks like a good chance that he will end up back in the first round after an impressive combine.

5). Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA

Moreau was underrated all year but got teams attention by clocking two 4.3 40’s and he had an impressive East-West shrine game in January.
