Let’s face it, it was already hard to be a Cincinnati Bengals fan. The Bengals last win in a playoff game was at the end of the 1990 season. From 1991-2004 no playoff games were to be played by the Cincinnati Bengals, then amazingly they have made the playoffs seven times since, but of course not one single win in those seven attempts. Between 2005-2010 it seemed a Bengals player was arrested every time you turned on the news. From 2011 until now the Bengals organization looked like it was making strides off the field because they were, on the field though the team had no discipline whatsoever. The lack of discipline cost the team, and it fans a long-awaited playoff win last year when the team imploded in the last seconds of the game getting two personal foul calls that led to the Steelers kicking a game-winning field goal.

Now, who was the main culprit in all of this? Adam Jones is his name, Steelers assistant Joey Porter ran on the field and started yelling at players, now Porter should have been penalized for this, but the game should have been important enough for Jones just to walk away. In the end, though it was more important for Jones to forget about the team and go at Porter. Players that do that are selfish and don’t care about their team, Vontaze Burfict got a penalty on a hit he put on Antonio Brown, while the hit was bad to me it was understandable as it is very hard to be going full speed and at the drop of a dime stop your forward momentum.

Jones had seemed to turn his life and career around the last few years with the Bengals, but it seemed he started regressing back to his old ways during that playoff game. Now in early January, he was arrested, I was going to write this article back then, but I decided to wait and give Jones the benefit of the doubt. That all changed yesterday when the dash cam video was released by the Police. Jones spent three minutes on a profanity-laced tirade against the police and showed no respect for the officer involved. He asked the Officer what he was being charged with and when told completely went off on the police. Here is the video of Jones making a complete ass out of himself.

This was the statement the Bengals issued after seeing the video. “We are extremely disappointed with Adam’s behavior,” the team said. “The behavior in the video is not what we expect from our players. The club is aware that Adam has put forth his apology. However, we also offer an apology to the public and to our loyal fans.”

Now Jones is also in trouble for allegedly head-butting an officer and spitting on a nurse. I will not comment on those incidents because I don’t know what happened and everybody is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. I want to address Jones actions in the video. The man on the video is someone who has no control of himself and in my opinion no respect for himself either, he is acting like a spoiled child who always gets his way. The video in and of itself should get Jones released from the Bengals. Will they cut Jones? Who knows? The only way there is a chance is if the public outrage forces Mike Brown to do the right thing, and even then that may not be enough to get Brown to do the right thing. The Bengals right now are a laughing stock for keeping a coach who in thirteen years has no playoff wins, they are also a laughing stock for the thuggish attitude the team supposedly plays with. Now a player has decided to go out in public and act like a thug. The Time has come for Mike Brown to move quickly and do the right thing for once. At the end of the day, Adam Jones moral character is more in line with being a Congress man or Presidential candidate than it is that of an NFL football player.
