Bill Polian recently said this to a reporter. “Tom Brady would have been a guy, and we were very high on him. Our guys really loved him, but we weren’t in the quarterback market, obviously. Those would be the guys I remember us giving solid, first-round, can-lead-you-to-a-championship grades.” No, he really said that! Now, I don’t know the reason why he would say this almost two decades after it happened. Polian is already in the Hall of Fame, so the reasons for him to make what seems to be a completely stupid claim are baffling to me.

Polian stated that the Colts did not draft Brady because they were not in the market for a QB, this is were I call B.S. If Polian thought Brady was a first round talent, why would he not draft him in the fourth or 5th round? Teams all the time draft players in the later rounds that they have first round grades on, even if they don’t need that position. So Polian would have to be an idiot not to draft a first round QB in the fourth or fifth round.

Polian is a senile old man who constantly takes shots at the New England Patriots. If you ask why he does it, the answer is quite simple: he is jealous of the Patriots’ success. If he was as great as he thought he was, the Patriots wouldn’t have owned his Colts teams so much. In 32 years, Polian won exactly one Super Bowl. This all comes down to a jealous old man who’s still threatened by the Patriots’ success. Sad that a man who has accomplished so much can’t just keep his mouth shut and enjoy those accomplishments and his life after football. It is time that somebody gets Old Man Polian a rocking chair before his mouth permanently tarnishes his reputation.

Is there a precedent in the NFL for a team using the #1 pick in the draft on a QB then drafting another QB the following year? I doubt it.
