This game has no playoff meaning, but make no mistake this will be one of the most exciting games of the weekend. Will Romo play? Will Elliott break rookie yardage record? Can the Cowboys stay healthy for their playoff run?
Dallas Cowboys- The Cowboys have been a surprise team this year led by a dominant offensive line and two rookies who have exceeded expectations. The question in this game is how long do the Cowboys play the starters? All indications are that we will see backup QB’s Tony Romo and Mark Sanchez. That means the Cowboys will have a legit QB in the game the entire way, so it is not like it is a giveaway game for the Cowboys. Backup running back Darren McFadden is better than some teams starters. In picking this game, let’s face it if they come out of the game with no major injuries it should be considered a Cowboys win.
Philadelphia Eagles- The Eagles started the season out a strong 4-2, they even put a butt whipping on the Steelers. Then they went to Dallas and lost a heartbreaker in the last minute to the Cowboys, every since that game the Eagles season has been in a downward spiral. I do believe though that the Eagles as an organization are headed in the right direction, and they have played much better the last few weeks.
Keys to the Game
Eagles RB Darren Sproles vs. Cowboys LB Sean Lee.- This could be the key to deciding if the Eagles will have success on the ground or not.Lee leads the Cowboys with a career-high 173 tackles. He has 12 tackles for loss and two pass deflections. He will be called on to diagnose screens and passes to Sproles. If Lee can take that Sproles away, it will make life tough on Carson Wentz.
Can the Eagles pressure the Cowboys QB?- The Boys have a great line, but I think they may have an advantage with Eagles DE Brandon Graham vs. Cowboys RT Doug Free. Fletcher Cox usually draws a double team which can put Graham on Free a matchup he could win.
I think the Eagles are a good enough to take advantage of the Cowboys playing a lot of backups, remember they came rally close to beating the Cowboys starters in Dallas. Eagles 23 Cowboys 16
