). Connor Cook is not an NFL QB- Cook did have some drops, but for most of the game he was inaccurate and very uncomfortable in the pocket. While it is true it is tough to judge him because of the situation of his first start being in an NFL playoff game. Still, it looks like he would have played better than he did. In college in last year’s playoff game against Alabama, he looked like he did Saturday against Houston.
). The Texans offense will keep them from being a threat- The Texans defense is good enough to win a Super Bowl, but they will not get near enough offense to help out the defense.
). The Seahawks offensive line is going to be a problem the rest of the way- They did play well run blocking wise, but the pass blocking was atrocious. With Vic Beasley waiting in Atlanta for Russell Wilson, the Seahawks better figure out something fast if they want to advance.
). Officiating in the playoffs is even worse than it is in the regular season- Why would you not just pick the best crews during the regular season? Instead, the NFL picks the best individuals and then puts them together for the playoffs, so the crews have never worked with each other before. To me, this makes no sense. The Lions were repeatedly screwed by the officials, not saying the officials cost them the game, but it did not help.
). The Detroit Lions are not jinxes; they are just poorly coached- Jim Caldwell’s decision making and the Lions play calling is, to say the least perplexing. The decision to go for it on fourth down and one was not terrible, but the play call was terrible.
). The Dolphins have a long way to go to be a Super Bowl contender- The Dolphins Linebackers and secondary are just plain bad. The problem is they will need to draft more than one player at each position to fix this issue. Let’s face it they made the playoffs because their schedule was incredibly soft over the last half of the year. The Dolphins were in life and death struggles with the 49ers and the Browns at home; that is not the sign of a team about to be a Super Bowl contender.
). The Steelers are dangerous- I know we already knew this, but watching Le’Veon Bell running the ball reinforced this. With Bell running the ball and the line blocking like it did they are capable of beating anyone. BTW, the defense is improving, the secondary is still a weakness, but the front seven is rock solid.
). It was not the Giants defense’s fault they lost- Blame this on the offensive lines inability to block for the run and the Wide Receiver’s failure to catch the ball. Two balls dropped that could have been touchdowns, were killers in the first half of the game. One more thing, how the hell is Marshall Newhouse still an offensive lineman?
). Aaron Rodgers is scary- Another thing we all knew, the only problem is the rest of the team is not nearly as scary. If the Packers win the Super Bowl, it will be all because of Aaron Rodgers. With that being said he is scary good, but the Packers won’t win the Super Bowl. I would not rule out another upset though.
