1) What Super Bowl hangover?

All of the talk of a possible Super Bowl hangover for the Falcons is slowly dying as the Falcons are still undefeated. The Falcons pulled out a close win in Detroit on Sunday and look like they are on a redemption tour that could lead the Falcons to another shot at the Super Bowl.

2) The Bengals do it again

No, I am not talking just about a blown lead in Green Bay. I am talking about Jake Elliott. Elliott was drafted in the 5th round of this past year’s NFL draft and the Bengals cut him for Randy Bullock. This is the same Bullock that missed an easy field goal in Houston at the end of last year that cost the Bengals a game. While Elliott yesterday was not a Bengal, he was an Eagle after the Bengals choose to keep Bullock over Elliott. So what happened yesterday was that Bullock missed a 48-yard field goal that would have given the Bengals a 10 point lead late in the third quarter of a game the Bengals lost in OT. Elliott kicked a 61-yard game-winner for the Eagles against the Giants. Once again the Bengals made the wrong choice!

3) Big Ben is looking old

The Steelers lost to the Bears in Soldier Field. The most concerning part of all of this is the fact that Big Ben has not looked like Big Ben in any of the Steelers three games this year. Does this mean father time has caught up to Big Ben? Not necessarily it is still early, but the Ben wants to retire at the end of last year rumors make you have to at least consider the possibility that the end is nearing for the future hall of famer.

4) Surprise teams that might be for real

Don’t look now but the Jaguars and Rams may be playoff contenders? The Jags defense and playmakers on offense make this a dangerous team. The Rams may benefit from a bad division and with upgraded weapons and an upgraded offensive line, Jared Goff is looking like an NFL QB.

5) Miami finds out why they were warned about Jay Cutler

Every Bears fan in the world warned you Miami Dolphins fan and now maybe you know why. The Dolphins played lackadaisical on Sunday and were blown out by an inferior team. It will be a long season in Miami.

6) The Panthers are NOT a playoff team

The defense is good, but the offense is sub-par. It’s led by a bad offensive line and a QB in Cam Newton who has lost his swag.

7) The Falcons-Lions may have been a NFC Championship preview

The Falcons won on paper and they did win the game, but Matthew Stafford seems to be able to will the Lions to victories and he was inches from doing it against the Falcons on Sunday.

8) The Vikings are a team on the rise

Case Keenum is holding the fort down for now, but eventually Sam Bradford will return and when he does the Vikings will be a Super Bowl contender.

9) The Packers are overrated

I know they have a lot of injuries, but when don’t they? The packers secondary is bad and the depth on the Packers is always a problem. The drafting the Packers have done the last few years has not been good enough to build depth on this team. That being said, as long as they have Aaron Rodgers they have a chance, but in all reality the Packers are maybe the second best team in the North, possibly third.
