With week seven in the books, the realities of the 2017 CFL season are coming into focus – for six of the league’s nine teams, anyway. On the Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast this week, co-hosts Os Davis and Joe Pritchard have it all figured out. Yeah, surrrrrrrre.

But first: Johnny Manziel to the Saskatchewan Roughriders? Manziel grudgingly admitted from an international gamblers convention (!) in Costa Rica (!!!) that, yeah, sure, he’d play in the CFL if “things” in the NFL don’t work out. Given those preseason rumors about Johnny Football’s secret workouts in Regina and Darien Durant’s woeful under-performance this season (week 6’s Duron Carter show notwithstanding), might this be a realer possibility than we think…?

And then! How about those Winnipeg Blue Bombers? How about those Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Eskimos and BC Lions? The four best teams in the CFL West/the entire league went 4-0 last week while the East manages a lowly 0-3 mark. Joe and Os debate whether anyone in the East can get a little separation and/or emerge as a bona fide playoff threat.

Though not necessarily needed, Os grouses about the Riders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, two teams that he contends should probably give up on 2017 right now.

The RWB CFL Podcast concludes with a round of CFL Pick ‘Em between the co-hosts. They reckon week 8 is easy, so get ready for the upsets!
