So it’s not quite actual football, but the first two weeks of CFL free agency were certainly quite exciting – exciting enough to fill a good hour on the Rouge, White & Blue CFL Podcast this week.

RWB co-hosts Os Davis and Joe Pritchard break down the moves and counter-moves made this offseason and assess each team’s prospects for 2017 from an admittedly still well-too-far-away viewpoint. Among the impressers include BC Lions, the Saskatchewan Roughriders and, yes, those Montreal Alouettes. Meanwhile, we try to get a bead on the Ottawa RedBlacks and the Toronto Argonauts.

And you bet the RWB takes a look at *that* Johnny Manziel story: Fake news or unprovable true story? We have a likely answer.

After this chatter, Os and Joe take another trip to Grey Cups Past to revisit the Wind Bowl, the 1965 championship game match between (who else?) the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. This one’s truly a unique game in all of professional football history, with winds of up to 40 MPH all but erasing the passing game and literally eliminating punt returns – This is one amazing collection of adaptive football strategy under extreme conditions.
