Top 5 Defensive Tackles 2016 NFL Draft!
1).Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville
Height: 6-1. Weight: 304. Arm: 32.34. Hand: 9.38.
40 Time: 5.03.
Defensive tackles are always risky to use a top 10 pick on and Rankins will be the first interior defensive lineman picked in the first round, probably in the teens. Rankins has natural pad level with a burst to fire his gap before offensive linemen are ready. With his body type, he can be tough to get a hold of for blockers. After his big week in Mobile, began projecting Rankins to go in the middle of the first round. He definitely accomplished his mission of making the most out of the Senior Bowl.
He is not as good when you look at his game film compared to senior bowl work outs, I still believe he will be a very productive pro.
2).Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama
Height: 6-3. Weight: 311. Arm: 32. Hand 10.76.
40 Time: 5.21. Doesn’t offer a lot as a pass rusher, but best run stopper in this draft, Reed does have the speed and athleticism to develop more pass-rushing skills as a professional though.
3). A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
Height: 6-3. Weight: 307. Arm: 34.5.
40 Time: 5.20.
They say he is a tremendous athlete with rare size, strength, speed and movement skills. They like Robinson as a person off the field, but question his love and dedication to football. Played his best game against LSU last year, has the potential to be a star.
4). Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech
Height: 6-3. Weight: 323. Arm: 34.13. Hand: 9.75.
40 Time: 5.33.
Butler has a great burst at the point of attack, and his speed rush is very hard for offensive linemen to contain. Butler also has the strength and base to generate power into the pocket. He can get in trouble when he stands up too high, but when he plays with good leverage, he can be overwhelming.
5). Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA
Height: 6-2. Weight: 314. Arm: 32.13.
40 Time: 5.06.
Clark has quick feet, good balance, agility, and an ability to bend. He definitely helped his first-round hopes at the combine. Look for him to go late first early second round.
