This week, Scott and I discuss Michael Floyd and his failed breath tests while on house arrest. Can Kombucha seriously be the culprit of said failed tests like his lawyer’s statement suggests? We aren’t going to call him a liar just yet but it seems highly unlikely.

Due to Floyd’s ongoing battle with alcohol, the Vikings may not have any other choice than to let the receiver go. As misfortunate as that may be for the team, it is more important that Floyd gets the help he needs.

Another major talking point this week is about the soon to be expiring contracts of many core players. Among the expiring contracts are non other than Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford. How Bradford performs this season will determine what the a Vikings end up doing with the other expiring contracts.

Xavier Rhodes is more than likely in for a big payday and Scott believes Rick Spielman may hand out more Mankato money when training camp starts. Spielman divvied out the moolah during the opening days of camp for Kyle Rudolph and Harrison Smith; Scott expects that trend to continue with Rhodes.

If the Vikings pay the wrong guy, the team could be heading in the wrong direction. Can the young players finally step up and make an impact to get the Vikings over the hump? If they do, the purple could have an opportunity to be special this season.
