On the second week of “Irish Football Weekly” for the 2017 season, Josh and Tony recap the big win in the season opener against Temple. The big things that stood out were some important things that could help any team win a football game. They discuss Brandon Wimbush’s starting quarterback debut. The defense was a much improved facet in the first game of the year. How will all of these things translate into another win?
In their second game, the Irish will go up against an unfamiliar foe, the Georgia Bulldogs. The game is on NBC (shocker right?) at 7:30p.m. at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, September 9th. So many items to discuss when you are trying to be a successful football team and stay in the Top 25 rankings. These two teams have so much to prove, especially the Irish. The guys dissect the second game for the Irish and how that could get them to improve to 2-0 on this short season so far.
Josh and Tony get a chance to talk about some other teams in the “Three Toughest Picks” segment. Josh talks about some remarks made by a “Hall of Fame” type coach. Josh loves the comments made by that well-known coach and hope every other head coach feels the same way. Tony and Josh totally disagree with Josh’s “Upset of the Week” segment., but they bounce back and agree in segment “Irish Prediction”. Who really cares if they agree, right?
A neat “Fun Fact for the Finish” segment with something that really means something in the world of athletic directors and how they get a “nice” schedule for their coach.
