Former Los Angeles Rams TE and L.A. Rams 2.0 Show co-host Tony Hunter is finding it more difficult to watch Rams games these days. Who can blame him? Last weekend saw yet another – stop us if you’d heard this before – disappointing, uneven game played by these Rams in a 13-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
With Todd Gurley all but given up on and a defense that can’t win games by itself, it’s tough for a Rams fan to take. Harder still for many of us (Tony and Rams 2.0 Show co-host Os Davis included) is acceptance of head coach Jeff Fisher’s recent declaration that the, let’s say, unsuccessful Chase Keenum will reamin the starter at quarterback until Los Angeles is mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
While last week’s guest Roman Gabriel contended that Jeff Fisher’s reticence to give up on Keenum in favor of no. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff is a mark of the man’s old-school attitude, Tony reckons that there must be grumbling in the Rams locker room. And Os figures that, while Fisher may not have lost his team per se, he may not necessarily be getting through to or appealing properly to his overall very young team.
Nevertheless, you can’t keep a good fan down. In the New York Jets, the Rams again are presented with a team they can beat. Once again, a stout front sever will certainly stifle poor Gurley; on the other side,t though, L.A. may have an edge in the crazy amount of turnovers Ryan Fitzpatrick & Co. tend to produce in 2016. Analysis and predictions included.
