Hey, everyone. Hope we are the last to wish you a Happy New Year as we are over a week into 2018 and close to a month until spring training is set to begin. We are back from our vacation and it was a pretty quiet few weeks since we last talked to you all.

We both thought that once the Giancarlo Stanton deal was finished that the flurry of free agency would get into full swing. So far, however, it has been all quiet on the free agency front. Eric Hosmer has been reportedly offered multiple 7 year deal and his former teammate in Kansas City, Lorenzo Cain, is being sought after by multiple teams needed outfield depth. Of course, we cannot forget that J.D. Martinez is still on the open market. So, who will end up being the domino that gets it all started?

On top of the big bats, there are some big name pitchers who have not made a decision on which hill they will stand on next season. Yu Darvish and Jake Arrieta are just a two of the hurlers yet to find a new home. Who would you rather have your team sign, Darvish or Arrieta? Are GMs going to be concerned with Darvish after his abysmal performance in the World Series? Graham and Chris debate that.

Finally, the Hall of Fame class of 2018 is very close to being announced for Major League Baseball. The guys think four names should make it this year, two of those being first ballot guys. Who are they and how many more from these first year players should make it before their decade is up?

All that on Out of Left Field’s first show of 2018!
