“Sugar” Shane Mosley was near the very top of the Pound for Pound list as both a lightweight and welterweight, and ranks among the greatest lightweight fighters of all time. Mosley, who announced his retirement earlier this week, is remembered on this special edition of The Ringside Boxing Show by two people who knew him throughout his career, Jerry Hoffman and Max Garcia.
Hoffman helped launch Mosley’s career as a small-venue boxing promoter in Santa Cruz and Monterey, California. Garcia spent multiple training camps with Mosley when he was training his own young fighters, Jose Celaya and Eloy Perez, both of whom went on to earn No. 1 world rankings from the WBO. This is a unique inside look at Mosley, one of the great superstars of his generation.
We also share a sensational conversation with the world’s No. 1-rated boxing judge, Julie Lederman, daughter of Hall of Fame judge Harold Lederman, best known today as HBO’s unofficial ringside scorer.
We also get another update from the dynamic United Kingdom boxing scene from British correspondent Paul McLaughlin, who updates us news about Paul Butler, Nathan Cleverly, Carl Frampton and Tony Bellew.
