The cream of the CFL crop has been thinned further, with the elimination of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Rouge, White & Blue puts a bow on these two teams’ season in discussing the 2016 CFL semifinal games. RWB co-host Joe Pritchard places an epitaph for his Bombers and looks optimistically (cautiously) toward 2017 – though Winnipeg must take care of possibly the league’s most important free-agent signing first…

Joe also talks a little about the Pythagorean Expectation metric, particularly in terms of those Bombers’ success in ’16. And if the words “advanced metrics” give you the heebie-jeebies, relax: At its most fundamental, Pythagorean Expectation can help illustrate which teams got the “lucky bounces” in a given season. Quite neat, actually.

And you bet we’re looking forward to the Edmonton Eskimos-Ottawa RedBlacks and BC Lions-Calgary Stampeders championship games! We’ve got analysis (such as it is) and predications for both – one may be surprising…

Plus – you guessed it – more gratuitous sampling of Jim Mora.
