Santa Clara:

Alabama and Clemson will meet for the fourth consecutive season in College Football Playoff, and third time in the National Championship game. Alabama and Clemson have split both National Championship games with each other, with the Crimson Tide leading the all-time series with the Tigers 14-4. Alabama won the last meeting with the Tigers in dominating fashion defeating the Tigers 24-6 to win the Allstate Sugar Bowl to advance to the Championship game with Georgia.

This game between the Crimson Tide and Tigers will be one of the epic battles and an all-out war between the two teams. These two teams had fairly easy rides to the National Championship after blowing out Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

Clemson shut down Notre Dame 30-3 in Cotton Bowl to advance onto the National Championship game with Alabama. The Tigers come into this game-winner of the ACC, Cotton Bowl, and an impressive 14-0 record. Everybody around College Football has said if anybody can beat Alabama it would be the Clemson Tigers. Clemson is led by Trevor Lawrence and Hunter Renfrow on offense, these two guys are a huge reason as to why Clemson is playing for yet another National Championship.

Clemson as of late has looked impressive on the defensive side of the ball leading the Tigers to a 30-3 rout of Notre Dame, giving up a mere 250 yards, and zero touchdowns in the win over the Irish. Clemson will have their hands full however with the high powered Alabama offense.

Here’s what Dabo Swinney had to say about the game with Alabama-

“Thanks to all of you for being here. It’s been a wonderful couple days. Really appreciate Bill Hancock and all the CFP folks for just the tremendous amount of organization that has to go into pulling this whole thing off, to just make it as routine as possible for the two teams.

So it’s been a great trip so far. Appreciate Santa Clara and San Jose, all the folks here that have worked all year to make this a great event.

But really excited about the opportunity to compete against the best team in the country on the highest stage. This is what we all set out to do, 130 teams, and you have two teams that have an opportunity to compete on this stage, and we’re thankful and blessed to have this moment.

Alabama has been an unbelievable champion, and Coach Saban and the consistency that they’ve had is remarkable. Not surprised at all to see them sitting back here. But really proud of our team and how we’ve performed all year long. Incredible focus.

This team is blessed with great leadership and just a great group of young people that have competed every single week to get to this point. I have no doubt it’ll be a heck of a ballgame tomorrow night, two great teams that both want to win, so this is what we’re all here for.

But appreciate the opportunity to be here this morning.”

Alabama is led by an explosive offense who leads the nation in almost every category possible. Tua Tagovailoa leads the Crimson Tide with 3,641 yards, 41 Touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. Alabama has also has a three-headed beast at running back with Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, and Najee Harris.

Alabama defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the Orange Bowl 45-34 to advance onto the game with Clemson.

We’re obviously pleased and happy with what our team has been able to accomplish this season, to have this opportunity to play against an outstanding Clemson team. I’d like to congratulate Dabo, his team and staff for the outstanding season that they’ve had.

When you play in a game like this, you expect to play against a great team, and Clemson is all of that. Our players are certainly looking forward to the challenge of playing against a really, really good team.

I’m really proud of our team and actually love what our team has been able to overcome and do this year. They’ve worked hard and really had a tough road to hoe to get here, and we certainly appreciate all their effort, togetherness and things that they’ve done to be able to have this opportunity.”

The National Championship game will kick off at 8 P.M. EST in Santa Clara, Ca on ESPN. Alabama is a five and half point favorite heading into the game with Clemson.
