  • Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn was the running backs coach for the Browns in 2007 and 2008 under Romeo Crennel.
  • Besides for Lynn, Chargers Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and Tight Ends Coach Rip Scherer were assistants with the Browns earlier in their careers.
  • This will be the fourth consecutive season that the Browns and Chargers play each other, with the Chargers being 2 – 1 in the previous three.

  • Browns Senior Assistant Al Saunders was the Head Coach of the Chargers from 1986 – 1988, compiling a .439 winning percentage.
  • In seven career games against the Browns, future Hall of Fame Tight End Antonio Gates has a 61.5% catch percentage and a 10.28 yards per target average.
  • In last season’s matchup, linebacker Joe Schobert had seven tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
  • Defensive Tackle Larry Ogunjobi played in only 43% of the defensive snaps in last years matchup. This season he was played in 89.8% of the defensive snaps.
