The Cincinnati Bengals Should Retire These Players’ Numbers

I know the Bengals can be cheap, but the fact that there is no ring of honor at Paul Brown Stadium is absolutely absurd! So today let’s take a look at Bengals players who should be in that ring of honor and have their jerseys retired, now I limited this to just six, but there are others that are very deserving.

#78 Anthony Munoz

Munoz was and is the greatest offensive tackle in NFL history. On top of that, his commitment to the city of Cincinnati before and after he retired needs to be honored also. He was a dominant part of two Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl teams and was a team leader on and off the field. It is an absolute joke that Munoz’ jersey has not been retired yet.

#13 Ken Riley

Riley had a long and underrated career. He retired with more than 60 interceptions and his contribution to the Bengals organization needs to be rewarded. Riley came to the Bengals as a QB and was converted by Head Coach Paul Brown to the cornerback position, where he prospered for a decade and a half.

#14 Ken Anderson

Anderson came out of tiny Augustana as a third round draft choice and under the tutelage of Offensive Coordinator Bill Walsh developed into one of the top QB’s of the 1970’s and early 80’s. Anderson led the Bengals to the playoffs in 1973, 75, 81, and 82, including a Super Bowl appearance in 1981. Anderson was also named the MVP of the NFL in 1981.

#57 Reggie Williams

Reggie Williams is hands down the best linebacker in Bengals history. What made him so great was his intelligence. Reggie was very rarely out of position and he was a leader of two defenses that helped the Bengals get to Super Bowls 16 and 23. Much like Anthony Munoz he may have contributed more to the Cincinnati community off the field than he did on the field.

#85 Isaac Curtis

The greatest Bengals receiver ever and the best number 85, Curtis was so good that they changed the rules because of him. He was lightning fast and with QB Ken Anderson throwing him the ball the Bengals were deadly through the air.

#69 Tim Krumrie

A true throwback player, Krumrie played in all 193 games during his Bengals career. Krumrie was a true fan favorite who gave everything he had on every snap he ever played.
